Configuring your community with the StellarUp Team

Your community can be tailored to meet the needs of your members and programs. We’ll be looking at what options and settings are available to help create the best experience for your community.

1. Community Assets


The Community Assets panel allows you to add and edit basic information, as well as set up different rules and configurations related to your company’s community, company, mission or ecosystem. You and your employees can see insights reflected on the Dashboard

1.2 Client Assets


The main page is equipped with several fields split into three sections. Further configuration capabilities are available within the Configuration module.

1.3 Platform Header


The first out of three sections establishes an introductory header title and banner picture.

Community Header Title

The title of the community. 

Header Banner

The banner picture for the community, used for the visualisation process. 

Relevant file size and type limitations are listed below.

 

1.4 Communities Page: Client Card Layout


This section of the page aims to apply a client-card template for the community.
Different clients will be able to see it before potentially joining. 

Make sure to enable the Communities Page Extension first.

Card Title

This is where you set the name of the client card.

Dashboard Community Circle

A picture used for the dashboard community circle.  

Relevant file size and type limitations are listed below.

Community Card Tile

A picture used for the community’s card tile. 

Relevant file size and type limitations are listed below.

Card Brief Description

Here, you can provide a short description for the client card.

 

1.5  Community Welcome Dashboard Box


The final section of the main page introduces a custom welcome message for new community members. Take advantage of the integrated text editor to stylise your text.

Welcome title

An optional title for the welcome message.

Welcome message

The welcome message itself. You can include additional elements such as pictures, links and videos.

Whether you plan to implement further changes or not, go to the bottom of the page and click Save Changes to apply your progress.

1.6 Configuration 


There’s an option to take community customisation to the next level. Just click the Configuration button at the top-right corner of the Client Assets page.

This will take you to the Configuration panel, part of the Administration page, which consists of ten tabs equipped with various settings and fields for providing information.

2. Basic Details


This tab always opens by default whenever you access the module and unlike other tabs, it’s not expandable and collapsible. It has several fields for settings regarding your company, mission, community or ecosystem’s profile.

Field

Function

Company Name

The name of your company. 

Application Title

The title of the application your company is using.

Client Mode

A dropdown menu from which you can define your company’s client mode. This may affect your experience on the platform, as each mode is set to work differently.

Default Time Zone

A dropdown menu from which you can define a default time zone for your company’s profile. 

Database Region

The region of your database. It’s set automatically based on the time zone defined in the previous field.

URL Subdomain

An automatically generated URL subdomain for your company’s profile. It cannot be changed.

URL Host

An automatically generated URL host for your company’s profile (e.g. Mentorjam). It cannot be changed.

Requested Own Domain

Here, you can provide a custom domain for your company.

Mailer Name Space

Another automatically generated field for the mailer name of your company. In most cases, it will be set to “corporate”.

Content Name Space (AWS)

A pre-filled field for content name space in Amazon Web Services. In most cases, it will be set to “corporate”.

Client Website

Your company’s own website, separate from the platform.

Terms and Conditions URL

A link to your company’s terms and conditions, if applicable.

Privacy Policy URL

A link to your company’s privacy policy, if applicable.

Is Client onboarded

A yes-no slider that allows you to define whether your company’s client is onboarded. 

Is the DNS configured

A yes-no slider for configuring a unique company DNS. 

 

3. Location


This tab establishes location-related details about your company, such as its primary and secondary address, town, postcode and country code.

4. Contacts


This tab introduces contact-related information about your company, such as its email addresses for communications, registrations and technical contact.

5. Email Settings


Focusing on email, this tab is all about how your company’s mailer layout will look.

Field

Function

Application Title - Mail

A default application title which will be applied across your emails’ layout. 

Mail Banner Image

The image your company’s emails will have as a banner. Relevant file size and type limitations are listed below.

Client has custom mailer layout

A yes-no slider which establishes whether your company has a separate custom mailer layout.

Profile Default – Display email to everyone

A yes-no slider which allows you to set whether a single employee profile’s received emails can be seen by every other user profile.

If you want to change this option per single profile, you’ll have to check their individual settings.

6. Payment Details


This tab is where you can provide your company’s payment details, such as its registration number, tax number, bic code and IBAN number, if applicable.

7. Client Style


Here, you can customise your company’s primary and secondary colours, as well as hash tag details. Click on the individual rectangles to apply your preferences. If they don’t meet your standards, implement a custom CSS for the design that you want.

8. Logos and Images


Progressing from the previous tab, this one allows you to upload custom images for your company’s main logo, application logo, application favicon, welcome banner and event banner. Relevant file type and size requirements are listed below. 

You can always remove and/or download these pictures using the two blue icons.

9. Platform Labels


This tab implements default labels across the platform, based on relevant platform terminology. You can customise each of them according to your preferences (e.g. mentors could be called instructors).

10. Settings and Permissions


Here, you can configure all sorts of rules and permissions concerning company, user, feature and data behaviour across the platform. They’re split into several subsections and enabled/disabled via yes-no sliders.

10. 1 General Permissions


Field

Function

Allow participants to display email addresses

Allows participants in different mentoring tracks to be able to display their email addresses within the platform for potential communications outside the platform.  

Companies can have external calendars

Allows a company to have an external calendar built within its profile. This works well in combination with the Google Calendar and Outlook Calendar Integrations. 

Phone numbers can be displayed in the platform

Allows employees to be able to display their phone numbers publicly within the platform.

Companies can use company logo throughout the platform

Allows a company to be able to use its logo in different places throughout the platform.

Profile Metrics is displayed in profile cards.

Makes activity metrics display on individual profile cards.

Allow to use StartUp fields in company and profile

Makes the use of StartUp fields possible within a company and a user profile.

Allow to use How relationships works page.

Makes the “How relationships work” page accessible.

Allow to use Welcome message on profile dashboard 

Makes the use of welcome messages possible on a profile’s dashboard page. It will be displayed on the left corner box, with pulses, todos and communities. If the option is disabled, the top center box will display another welcome message.

Display Ready to Mentor option

Allows two people of the same gender to match. The option will be available in each profile’s settings.

 

11. Network and Activities

Is Client open to be linked with other communities?

Allows your company/community to be available for linking with other communities.

Allow user to restrict network by program

Allows employees to restrict their networks from their individual profile settings. 

Export option

Makes the Export button available at the top-right corner of most pages of the platform, allowing you to generate an external-sheet version of them.

 

11.1 Mentor – Mentee settings

Multiple mentees per relationship

Makes relationships of one mentor and multiple mentees possible. The setting will be available within a mentoring track’s individual settings.

Members can request to become mentors

Allows employees to set their profiles as “Ready to Mentor” instead of administrators. However, you retain control of the mentor pools at track level. 

Allow mentor as mentee

Gives mentors the ability to be mentees for mentoring tracks they’re not prepared for.

Default Profile is ready to Mentor

Allows created profiles to have a setting Is Ready to Mentor set to “yes” by default.

12.  Program Settings

Allow mentors to opt out of the programme

Gives mentors the ability to leave a mentoring track whenever they desire.

Members can register without an invite

Allows people from outside the platform to join a mentoring track without an invite. Administrators will need to accept or reject all uninvited applications.

13. Content Manager Settings

Display Resources by Content Type

Displays a Summary page and submenu items for Content Types when clicking a resource link.

Display Global Content in user library

Allows users with limited access to see content such as global folders on the Content Manager.

 

14. Filter Settings

Use filter expanded on the page – USER SIDE

Allows users from within the user mode of the platform to filter the results on certain pages.

Use filters expanded on the page – ADMIN SIDE

Allows admins from within the admin mode of the platform to filter the results on certain pages.

Display collapsed Filter for Level skills

Includes a “Level skills” option into the filtering menu.

 

15. Development Settings


The final tab from the Configuration module requires at least a basic level of developer knowledge and skills. Make sure you understand what you’re doing before trying to provide information or configure any of the settings.

Once you’re done setting everything up, don’t forget to click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the Configurations panel. You’ll be returned to the Administration page.
