Navigating Video Features with WhereBy on StellarUp
StellarUp has an integrated video software called WhereBy. WhereBy is integrated into many areas of your platform including;
- Messaging
- Events
- Relationships
WhereBy allows users to have a video call (similarly to Google Meet and Zoom) with a singular user or as part of a larger group.
Messaging
Within your messaging tab you have the ability to start an impromptu video call with a user or a group. By selecting the camera button (found at the top right of the messaging box) a new tab will open up providing access to the software.
Events
With the StellarUp Video extension enabled you have the ability to host events on the platform using WhereBy. When creating an event there will be a ‘Use Community Video’ switch that allows you to create an event with an associated video link.
Users will then be able to access the video through their ‘Events’ tab and selecting the ‘Open Video’ button:
Relationships
Similar to your messaging tab, WhereBy allows you to have impromptu video meetings within your relationship. In the top right of the page there is a ‘Quick Meeting’ button that will take you directly to a private video room:
Additionally, you have the ability to schedule video meetings with your mentor/mentee by selecting the ‘New Action’ button and creating a meeting. When you create this meeting there will be an associated video link at the bottom of the pop-out:
Functionality
WhereBy provides a very similar functionality to your standard video providers like Google Meet and Zoom, this includes;
- Turning video and microphone on and off
- Sharing of screen
- Meeting recording
- Chat function
By selecting the cog icon at the top right of your page you will be able to choose the camera and microphone input as well as creating a background image and blur.
